The furniture and design industry is proclaiming a mixed start to 2011. Some companies are publishing record sales figures while others show the effects of the bad weather and the economic climate as having an effect on trading figures. Overall the industry looks set to continue on a positive trend as people decide to spend money on their existing home, rather than moving to a new property and relinquishing the family holiday as times get tougher, to update their property with some of the fantastic interior designs that are available.
January is a very good time for people in the interior design industry to search for remarkable products with a number of interior design trade shows on the calendar. The IMM Cologne Show in January (19th – 23rd) promises to kick start 2011 for the industry. Also on a very positive note, the Interiors 2011 trade show at the NEC in Birmingham on 23rd to 26th January is indicating a fantastic show that all in the furniture and design industry should not miss. The show promises to be an excellent opportunity to source inspirational interior design products from leading manufacturers and suppliers together with a vast array of niche designer’s products from the international arena.
For companies that want to achieve success in 2011 the Interiors trade show will be an essential aspect to keep ahead in all things interior design. There will be opportunities to view both modern and traditional ideas for furniture, flooring, lighting, soft furnishings and accessories – but more importantly to get ahead of the field in terms of interior design. As consumers reassess their interior design needs it is essential that the industry keeps this in mind – according to IMM Cologne austere times means consumers will spend on items on innovative and
modern furniture, no longer wanting the traditional interior design products. 2011 looks to be an exciting year for the industry!
